Becky Rose is a contemporary landscape artist based in the South of the UK. In 2007 she graduated with a BA in Fine Art from University College Falmouth and has had various group shows along the South Coast. Becky has been shortlisted for the Royal Academy Summer Exhibition and the National Open Art where she has also been an Artist In Residence.

Becky's work explores the relationship between the natural beauty of mountainous landscapes and the memory that is bestowed upon them. Within her paintings there is always a sense of a wild place, but also a feeling of distance, creating familiarity and intrigue. Exploring the magnitude of these natural environments takes Becky on many adventures in the mountains, gathering evidence into her sketchbooks of both an ever changing composition and her emotional responses to the experience. However, when back in the studio, working on her paintings the field studies are put to one side and rarely looked at, allowing her memory to be a primary source. This way of working allows her paintings to grow organically, creating an ephemeral quality within the work.

The fascination of the wild elements of the natural world were imbedded into Becky at a young age, with yearly trips into the mountains of North Wales, that were filled with plenty of adventure and possibilities. The mountains have now become a second home, providing her with clarity and endless inspiration,
